Changelog
What's new on BTNG.studio. The updates, new content, and improvements that shaped the site.
-
August 2026
A new look, and copy that says more
- Redesigned the homepage around a single idea: show the problem, name the doubt, then show what changes. New hero, a section that answers the "I have had an audit before" objection head on, and a plain description of where you land six weeks later.
- New navigation and footer across every page. The menu is now a floating bar with the language, colour mode and review rating built in, and the footer closes with a real invitation instead of a wall of links.
- Rewrote the copy on the homepage, the research page and the design page. Fewer claims about me, more about what you get.
- The site now opens in light mode by default. Dark mode is still one tap away, and it remembers your choice.
- Fixed a handful of details that had drifted: the Miro Expert count, the years of experience, and a research statistic that needed crediting to Baymard.
-
July 2026
Titles, descriptions, and a colour system that behaves
- Ran a series of title and meta description experiments across the article library, rewriting them to lead with what people actually search for. Several moved into the top five.
- New articles on UX audit patterns in Dutch stores and on WCAG 2.2 for ecommerce, covering what changed and what still fails.
- Collapsed four overlapping colour scales into one and fixed the dark mode problems that were hiding behind them.
-
June 2026
Answers where people ask them
- Added structured question and answer sections to the most-read articles in both languages, so the answers can surface directly in search rather than only on the page.
- Expanded the audit cost articles with a plain explanation of what an ecommerce UX audit actually involves.
-
May 2026
A fully bilingual site
- Every page on the site is now available in Dutch. Homepage, services, cases, all 68 articles, the full 166-article FAQ, resources, and thank-you pages.
- New Hans Voortman case study: a checkout redesign told through before/after composites and the conversion hypotheses behind each change.
- Moved hosting to Cloudflare Pages for faster, more reliable global delivery.
- Sharper link previews. Custom share images for articles and case studies when you post them on social.
-
April 2026
A new design system
- Rebuilt the entire interface on the BTNG UI design system with a unified set of design tokens, and upgraded to Tailwind CSS v4.
- Launched the QuickScan conversion landing experience at /research.
- Added the free shipping threshold formula guide and dozens of new FAQ answers on cart abandonment, checkout, and conversion rates.
- Indexability fixes, legacy redirects, and accessibility improvements across the site.
-
March 2026
Deeper content & the BTNG Lab
- Opened the BTNG Lab. A public ecommerce component showcase, including a Dutch checkout prototype with iDEAL and buy-now-pay-later.
- Published pillar guides: Ecommerce Homepage Design, The Best Ecommerce Design Subscriptions in 2026, the Shopify CRO guide, and the Ultimate Guide to CRO.
- Enriched the long-form articles with video, imagery, and expert captions.
- Added authoritative citations (Baymard, NN/g, WCAG, web.dev) across the top articles.
-
February 2026
BTNG.studio launches
- Launched the new brand (formerly Buitenaardig). A full site built on Astro with a Keystatic CMS.
- Brought across the case-study portfolio, lead-magnet resources, and the FAQ system.
- Laid the SEO foundation: sitemap, robots.txt, structured data, and rich-snippet schema.
